Pre-Budget Discussion at KIIT School of Management

KIIT School of Management (KSOM) organized a Pre-Budget Panel Discussion on 31st January 2022 before the Finance Minister presented the Union Budget 2022. The theme of the session was: A virtual curtain-raiser to Union Budget 2022 (Predictions and Expectations). KSOM students came up with their pre-suppositions in a very well-structured Panel Discussion held over virtual mode and analyzed and interpreted their thoughts for different sectors. The prediction and expectation for this year’s Budget were highlighted by the participants who shared their insights by unraveling and revealing the bigger picture of the upcoming Budget for the financial year 2022-2023.

The students had their share of discussion and expectations concerning one goal: boosting our GDP growth across all four major sectors of the Indian economy. The Panel Discussion, organized by Exchequer – the Finance Club of KSOM, was guided by Prof. Shikta Singh, Associate Professor, KSOM. The discussion laid focus on- Finance, Healthcare and Education, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Infrastructure. The focus areas were discussed by four student panels.

Prof. Saroj Mahapatra, Director, KSOM addressed and congratulated the students for their active participation and also mentioned about how the student experts are no less than the so called experts. Prof. S. N. Mishra, Dean, KSOM set the context and stressed upon the relevance of such discussions. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sayantan Sett, Coordinator of the Finance Club. He summarized the entire event and thanked everyone for their contribution and participation.
