KIMS Alumni from the Department of Community Medicine Win Prestigious Researcher Awards

The Department of Community Medicine, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bhubaneswar, proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of its alumni, Dr. Ansuman Kar and Dr. Priyanka Mohanty, who have been recognized with prestigious awards by Scientific Laurels for their contributions to research and public health.

Dr. Ansuman Kar, a PG alumnus of the MD Community Medicine batch 2019–2022, has been honoured with the Young Researcher Award in the field of Community Medicine for his significant contributions to research and public health. His research journey was guided and mentored by his former guide, Professor Dr. Sonali Kar, Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine, KIMS, Bhubaneswar.

Dr. Priyanka Mohanty, a PG alumna of the MD Community Medicine batch 2023–2026, has been conferred the Youngest Nobel Researcher Award for her contribution to public health research, particularly her work on tribal populations in Kalahandi, Odisha, under the guidance of her former guide, Professor Dr. B. K. Behera, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, KIMS, and Dr. Prem Sagar Panda, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, KIMS.

These accomplishments are a matter of immense pride for the entire KIMS family and serve as an inspiration to present and future generations of postgraduate students to pursue impactful research and contribute meaningfully to public health.
