KIIT-DU Inks MoU with NCCBM

KIIT Deemed to be University (KIIT-DU), Bhubaneswar signed an MoU with National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM) on 1st February 2022. NCCBM is a premier body under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. This MoU aims at building cooperation and strengthening long-term collaboration for Research & Development between KIIT-DU and NCCBM. The agreement was signed by Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU and Dr. Bibekananda Mohapatra, Director General, NCCBM in presence of the Pro-VC, Registrar, Director R&D (SoT) and Deans of KIIT-DU.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sasmita Samanta emphasized the benefit of collaboration between KIIT and NCCBM for exploring academic and research activities considering various domains of expertise. Dr. Bibekananda Mohapatra highlighted exploring the possibilities of joint R&D on industrial waste management. Further, he suggested developing industry oriented academic programs suitable to both KIIT and NCCBM.

Prof Saranjit Singh, Pro-VC and Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar outlined the importance and benefit of the MoU exchange and stressed on the joint academic and research activity. Prof. Ashok Kumar Sahoo, Director-R&D (SoT); Prof. P. C. Mishra, Dean-Research, SME; Prof. Kalyani Mohanta, Professor, SME; Prof. Sanjib Moulick, Dean, School of Civil Engineering; and Prof. B. K. Nayak, Dean, School of Electrical Engineering were present at the MoU signing ceremony. Senior officials of NCCBM, Dr. B. Panduranga Rao, Mr. Nitin Choudhury, Mr. D. Pavan Kumar and Mr. Kapil Kukreja were also present.

The MoU Signing Ceremony was initiated, organized and coordinated by Prof. B. C. Routara, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering and Prof. Kalyani Mohanta.
