KIIT Film Society, KSAC Celebrates World Photography Day with “Nazariya”

 A mega photography exhibition and contest, “Nazariya,” was successfully organized by the KIIT Film Society under the KIIT Student Activity Centre (KSAC) on 19th August 2026, World Photography Day.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 250 students, who showcased an impressive collection of more than 500 photographs across diverse themes and perspectives. The exhibition brought together passionate photographers and photography enthusiasts, showcasing exceptional creativity, diverse perspectives and compelling storytelling through the lens. It served as a vibrant platform for students to explore the art of photography and present their unique visual narratives.

The event was graced by eminent guests and dignitaries, including Shri S. S. Ray, Sr. Director General, KIIT-DU; and Padma Shri Adwaita Gadanayak, Director General, KIIT Art Academy.

Two eminent personalities from the field of cinema and visual arts, Shri Subash Das, Eminent Filmmaker, and Shri Jugal K. Debata, Eminent Cinematographer, joined the event as distinguished Jury Members.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the felicitation of the jury members. Shri Subash Das and Shri Jugal K. Debata addressed the gathering, sharing their valuable insights and experiences with the participants. The photography exhibition was subsequently inaugurated, followed by the much-awaited announcement of the winners.

The competition featured two categories, with the Top Three prizes awarded in each category, along with a special Audience Poll Award, making it a total of seven prizes. The event received an overwhelming response, recording a footfall of over 1,000 visitors, further highlighting the growing interest and appreciation for photography and visual storytelling among the student community.

“Nazariya” emerged as a grand success and a vibrant celebration of visual art, creativity and storytellingreflecting the immense talent and artistic vision of young photographers. The event further reinforced the commitment of KSAC and the KIIT Film Society towards providing meaningful platforms for students to learn, create and showcase their talents.
