KSRM Hosts Collective Social Learning Workshop with Global Participation

KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) hosted a dynamic Collective Social Learning (CSL) Workshopled by internationally renowned sustainability practitionerMr. Greg Bruce, OAM, recipient of the Order of Australia Medal. The workshop brought together nearly 180 participants, including professors and international students from the City University of New York (CUNY), along with students and faculty from KIIT School of Rural Management, School of Civil Engineering, School of Design, and School of Architecture & Planning.

Designed as an immersive and collaborative learning experience, the workshop encouraged participants to collectively explore ideas for a more sustainable and inclusive future. Faculty members joined students as equal participants, creating an open environment that promoted dialogue, creativity, and shared learning. Through interactive activities, participants visualized their aspirations, identified key enablers and barriers to achieving them, and engaged in systems thinking to address real-world sustainability challenges.

The workshop also emphasized action-oriented outcomes. Participants committed to one personal step they would take towards sustainability while proposing institutional initiatives that KIIT and CUNY could jointly pursue to strengthen global engagement and sustainable development. The lively exchange of ideas across cultures and disciplines fostered innovation, empathy, and collaborative problem-solving.

The programme concluded with an informal networking session, allowing participants to build international connections and continue meaningful discussions. The CSL Workshop reflected KIIT University’s commitment to experiential learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global partnerships, while inspiring students to become responsible changemakers capable of addressing complex global challenges through collective action.
