Virtual Meeting Held Between KIIT-DU, Japan’s Tottori University  and Tottori Prefectural Government to Discuss Joint Academic and  Research Collaboration

KIIT Deemed to be University conducted an online meeting with senior officials from Japan’s Tottori University and the Tottori Prefectural Government on 17 July 2026 to discuss joint academic and research collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, workforce and language training, start-up collaboration, industrial engagement, and internship and job opportunities across various disciplines, particularly Engineering and Technology. The preliminary discussion between the two universities will pave the way for an MoU by the end of this year.

The virtual meeting from Japan was led by Mr. Tomonori Sera, Director, International Affairs Division, Tottori Prefectural Government, and Ms. Kumi Yasunobu, Vice-President (Promotion of International Exchange), Tottori University, in the presence of Mr. Yoshio Iwai, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Tottori University; Mr. Akifumi Shimizu, Director, Trading and Logistics Division, Tottori Prefectural Government; and others.

At KIIT-DU, the discussion was spearheaded by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; Prof. (Dr.) Kumar Mohanty, Director, School of Management; Prof. Arun Kumar Ray, Director (Academics); Prof. Gopal Ch. Kundu, Director (R&D); Prof. B. G. Mohapatra, Director (Consultancy); Prof. Abhishek Ray, Dean (Industry Engagements); and others.

The engagement with Tottori University and the Tottori Prefectural Government was initiated by the Department of Language and Literature, School of Liberal Studies, KIIT Deemed to be University, which is pursuing skill development in foreign languages such as Japanese, German, Spanish, and French.
