The International Relations Office(IRO), KIIT celebrated the 66th Independence Day of Somalia on 1st July 2026 with Somali students studying at KIIT-DU. The programme was organized to recognize the national occasion and provide an opportunity for students to share their culture and traditions with the university community.

Some of the students attended the celebration in their traditional national attire, sang the Somali national anthem, and spoke about their journey at KIIT. The interactive session helped everyone present gain a better understanding of Somalia and its people.

Senior DG, IRO, Mr. Debraj Pradhan, addressed the gathering and spoke about the friendly relations between India and Somalia. He encouraged the students to make the most of their time at KIIT.

The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, followed by informal interaction among the students and IRO officials. Such celebrations, though non-academic in nature, provide an important platform to connect with international students on a personal level, strengthen their sense of belonging, and build closer relationships between the students and the International Relations Office.
