NSS SCE KIIT Organizes Ideathon
“Innovate. Create. Achieve.”
The NSS Unit of the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT-DU, organized an Ideathon titled “Innovate. Create. Achieve.” on 15 March 2026. The event aimed to foster creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among students by providing a platform to present ideas addressing real-world challenges.
With the active participation of around 170 volunteers, the Ideathon encouraged students to collaborate and propose innovative solutions to contemporary issues. Several teams presented impactful ideas, including an Emergency Information Card App to assist accident victims and a concept to convert cigarette waste into useful products, reflecting both creativity and social awareness. The event aligned with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking among students.



The event was evaluated by an esteemed panel comprising Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jha from KIIT Technology Business Incubator; Dr. Prachet Bhuyan, Dean of Training and Placement, KIIT; and Dr. Ananya Mitra, Assistant Professor, KIIT School of Economics and Commerce, along with Dr. Smruti Ranjan Das, NSS Liaison Officer, NSS. The judges appreciated the originality of the ideas and provided valuable insights to help participants refine their concepts. The winning teams were felicitated with mementos and certificates in recognition of their efforts.
The event was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. Raghunath Dey, Dr. Minakhi Rout, Dr. Subhashree Darshana, and Dr. Ajaya Kumar Parida, NSS Programme Officers of the School of Computer Engineering, with support from the KIIT NSS Bureau. The programme was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rout, NSS Programme Coordinator, and Dr. Smruti Ranjan Das, NSS Liaison Officer.
