Industrial Visit to Central Tool-room and Training Center (CTTC), Bhubaneswar

On 24th August 2024, the School of Mechanical Engineering at KIIT organized an industrial visit for the 5th-semester students to the Central Toolroom and Training Center (CTTC), Bhubaneswar. The visit was aimed at providing students with hands-on exposure to modern manufacturing processes and technologies. The group was accompanied by Dr. Abhilas Swain, Dr. Smrutirupa Pradhan, Dr. Rahul, and Mr. Siba Padarabinda Behera.Dr. K.M. Rajan, Senior Manager-Training at CTTC, provided an insightful session on the various steps involved in the manufacturing process. He also emphasized the importance of skill development and how students can prepare themselves for future employability in the industry.
During the visit, students explored several state-of-the-art facilities, including the CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, IoT Center, Process Control Laboratory, and 3D printing. The experience gave the students valuable insights into the practical aspects of their theoretical knowledge and a clearer understanding of the industry’s expectations.
