KIIT Hosts Seminar on Advanced Functional Materials SMC Bhubaneswar Chapter Inaugurated

KIIT Deemed to be University hosted a Seminar on Advanced Functional Materials on 24th February 2024. In a noteworthy initiative aimed at fostering material research, the Society for Material Chemistry (SMC) Bhubaneswar Chapter was inaugurated during the event. The headquarters of this society is located at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai.

Speaking at the inaugural session, Professor A. K. Tyagi, Distinguished Scientist, DAE and Director, Chemistry Group, BARC shared his invaluable expertise and insights, enriching and adding value to the discussions on the latest advancements in material chemistry. Knowledge is power and it is well realized by Prof. Achyuta Samanta, the visionary Founder of KIIT & KISS, he said.

Prof. K. M. Parida, Vice-president, SMC, elaborated on the importance of the Bhubaneswar Chapter. “This auspicious beginning with the inauguration of the SMC local chapter will bring all material researchers together for fruitful intellectual exchange aimed at desired scientific outcomes,” he stated.

Professor J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU, also addressed the inaugural session. The event was convened by Dr. Rojalin Sahu, Professor of Chemistry and Associate Dean of the Central Research Facility at KIIT-DU. The seminar concluded on a high note with a vote of thanks by Professor Prasanta Rath, Dean of the School of Applied Sciences at KIIT-DU.

The seminar left an indelible mark on the scientific community, imbuing them with renewed energy and serving as a testament to the power of knowledge and collaboration in shaping a brighter future for the academic and research community.
