PhD Orientation Programme – 2021 at KIMS

The Department of Research and Development (R&D), KIMS, KIIT-DU organized an orientation programme for the first batch of PhD students (three in Physiology and one in Anatomy) enrolled in the academic year 2020-21 on 2nd March 2021 via both physical and online mode.

Speaking at the programme, Prof. (Dr.) Ramnath Misra, Dean R&D welcomed the dignitaries and newly-joined PhD scholars. He also briefed about the rules and regulation of PhD and emphasized the role of the Research scrolling committee and the school level RSC, etc. The supervisors, Prof. Dr. Satya Narayan Samal, HoD Anatomy and Prof. Dr. Jayanti Mishra, HoD, Physiology also spoke on the occasion.

In his introductory remarks, Maj. Gen. Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Patnaik, Principal, KIMS & Director General, School of Medicine explained the efforts to initiate the PhD program at KIMS and was hopeful that the enrolled scholars will bring laurels to the institute through their hard work. Prof. (Dr.) A. C. Anand, Head, Department of Gastrology & Hepatology emphasized the need to carry out high quality research work through collaboration.

The programme ended by sharing experiences by the faculty members Dr. Raj Kumar Patro, Dr. Mona Pathak and Dr. Bandita Panda during their PhD journey.
