As a part of its webinar series on ‘Agri-Value Chain’,  Ms. Pragati Gokhale, Founder and Chief Mentor,  Mission Mera Mobile Mera Marketing delivered a talk at KIIT School of Rural Management for the students of MBA (RM) and MBA (ABM) on 16th October, 2020.

In her talk, she laid focus on a disruptive bottom up approach for enabling completely free online agro & rural marketing in India from rural stakeholders. She narrated her journey and inspiration to start the mission. She felt that there was a need for an initiative to empower farmers, SHG members, agro entrepreneurs and FPOs. The mission with its 3 components is sustainable as it is available and free for the rural people to use as a means of direct marketing.

The three pillars of the mission include: missionmirchi.com, an indigenous, responsive, multilingual web portal highlighting all rural /agro categories for free digital marketing of rural/agro products, rural services and rural jobs; creation of back-end linkages that includes hands on sessions of rural stakeholders; and creation of front end linkages like leveraging various offline/online strategies including AI techniques, Search Engine Optimization to find B2B, B2C linkages for rural products.

Ms. Gokhale has around 40 years of rich experience in multiple disciplines like statistics, ICT, e-governance, ERP, entrepreneurship development, digital marketing, rural development and data sciences. She retired as Deputy Director from Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialization, Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises. She is now working as an Advisor at Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission (Govt. of Maharashtra) and Department of Science & Technology SEED Program (Govt. of India) for the last 2 years. She has been empanelled as a national resource person by the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India.
