KIIT-DU Signs MoU with Listenlights Pvt. Ltd. to Strengthen Industry-Academia Synergy

KIIT Deemed to be University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Listenlights Pvt. Ltd. on 9th July 2025. This agreement marks a significant step towards fostering collaboration between academia and industry to enhance educational outcomes. It ensures that KIIT students gain a first-mover advantage in acquiring in-demand skills, particularly in the rapidly expanding data center and MEP sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU, emphasized the value of industry exposure and practical learning for students. He recalled a similar successful collaboration with IAPMO in 2015, which led to faculty training in MEP systems. He expressed confidence that this new association with Listenlights—renowned for its expertise in data center construction and MEP services—would prove mutually beneficial.

Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, underscored the vital role of faculty in leveraging this partnership to better align students with industry expectations, thereby improving their preparedness for real-world challenges.

Mr. Kamlesh Shah, Managing Director of Listenlights Pvt. Ltd., spoke on the importance of such collaborations and shared the company’s extensive experience in delivering end-to-end MEP solutions, particularly in data center projects. Mr. Amit Raual, Chief People Officer at Listenlights, highlighted the mutual benefits of the MoU for both KIIT students and Listenlights employees, especially in the fields of civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. He proposed the introduction of industry-aligned elective courses and emphasized the further development of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Building Information Modelling (BIM) at the School of Civil Engineering.

Ms. Pooja Khanna Jain, from the Learning & Development team at Listenlights, discussed the potential of joint training programs and workshops to create significant value for both institutions. She expressed her appreciation to KIIT for initiating this strategic partnership.

Prof. (Dr.) Prachet Bhyuan, Professor and Dean, Training and Placement, KIIT-DU, and Dr. P. Chandrasekhar, Professor and Associate Dean (IE), School of Mechanical Engineering, also spoke during the signing ceremony. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Mohibullah, Associate Dean, Industry Engagement, School of Civil Engineering.
