The Faculty members of Department of Paediatrics, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) have showcased their research work at the joint event of the 30th Biennial Conference of the International Paediatric Association and the 60th Annual Conference of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The event, the largest conference of paediatric specialists, experts, teachers, students, professors, scientists, and editors in the 21st Century, which was held between February 19 and 23 this year, had the theme ‘‘Quality of Care for Every Child Everywhere – The International Need of the Hour’’. Around 25,000 delegates from across the world attended the conference.
Faculties from the Department of Paediatrics, KIMS were invited to contribute to this mega-conference in various capacities. While Prof. Sebaranjan Biswal was a panellist in the Mixed Bag session; Prof. Nirmal K. Mohakud, had chaired a session presented by Unicef Country Head, regarding implementation of INAP (India Newborn Action Plan) towards attainment of the goals of “Single Digit Neonatal Mortality Rate” and “Single Digit Stillbirth Rate”, by 2030.
On the other hand, Prof. Reshmi Mishra joined as a faculty for EPIC (Essential Paediatric Intensive Care) workshop, Prof. Sibabrata Pattnaik participated in a panel discussion on Steroid therapy and Associate Prof. Mukesh Jain as Faculty in Ventilation workshop.
All faculties were grateful to the KIMS authorities for providing the infrastructure and facility to carry out their research work, which was reflected at the international platform. They were also obliged to the HOD, Prof Manas R Behera, for giving them opportunities and freehand to do better in the fields of academics and research.
