KIIT International Students Win Best Paper
Award at AIMLCPS 2026
Mr. Sujit Pangeni and Mr. Shirish Baral, international B.Tech (CSE) students from Nepal at KIIT, presented their research paper titled “Mamba Meets U-Net: A Comprehensive Study for Brain Tumor Segmentation” at the 1st International Conference on Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in Communication and Power Systems (AIMLCPS 2026), held at Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur, on 20–21 February 2026.


Their paper (Paper ID: 717) was selected for the Best Paper Award from among 121 presented papers, making the recognition particularly prestigious and noteworthy. The research was carried out under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Mainak Bandyopadhyay, Assistant Professor and Faculty-in-Charge (FIC), School of Computer Engineering, and Dr. Prasenjit Maiti, Assistant Professor, School of Computer Engineering, KIIT.
This accomplishment reflects the strong research culture at KIIT and highlights the outstanding contribution of its international students in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
