KIIT School of Computer Engineering Organizes ATAL-FDP on ‘Data Science for IoT’

The School of Computer Engineering, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University is organizing a five-day Online FDP on ‘Data Science for IoT’. The FDP, sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, Govt. of India, started on 21st June 2021 and will continue till 25th June.

As many as 14 sessions will be conducted in the FDP, which aims to contribute to improving the research skills of the participants. Eminent speakers from both academic and industrial backgrounds will facilitate knowledge to 200 participants registered from 16 different states of India. The program centers around various topics, based on the demands of  Data Science for Internet of Things (IoT) applications in different domains such as healthcare, wearable, image processing, reinforcement techniques, and other areas of analytics. It will address numerous challenging issues concerning data science in the IoT domain and several technically feasible solutions will be discussed.

Speaking at the common inaugural session by ATAL Academy, AICTE, which was held virtually on 21st June 2021, Dr. Ravindra Kumar Soni, Director, ATAL Academy, AICTE highlighted the important aspects of FDP for faculty members of educational institutions. He stressed upon certain vital parameters like the role of an educator in today’s society; transformation of information to knowledge, while dealing with the different curriculum of Indian educational standards. Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE acknowledged the core impact of the FDP in paving the path from conventional education to providing intelligent education.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS addressed the significance of Data Science for the IoT domain. Initiating the session at the School-level, Dr. Hrudaya Kumar Tripathy, Associate Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering & Coordinator, ATAL-FDP made the participants aware of the achievements of KIIT-DU and the School. Dr. Sushruta Mishra, Assistant Professor, KIIT School of Computer Engineering outlined the detailed program schedule and technical activities of the FDP.
