GDG-On-Campus-KIIT Hosts Technology and Innovation Programme
Google Developer Group-(GDG)-On-Campus-KIIT organized ‘Deploy or [REDACTED]’, a two-day technology and innovation programme on 8th–9th August 2026 at KIIT-DU. The event received an overwhelming response, with more than 1,700 participants enrolled and over 550 participants attending in person.
The programme brought together technology enthusiasts through a blend of Generative AI, scientific exploration, data analysis and hands-on innovation, featuring a Generative AI session by Sky Eye Technology, the NASA Asteroid Hunt Campaign through IASC in collaboration with DEUXSTEM, and an Innovation Hackathon with HowToAlgo. Participants gained exposure to emerging AI applications, authentic astronomical datasets and citizen-science-based asteroid searches, while the hackathon encouraged collaboration, ideation, prototyping and practical problem-solving.
Dr. Biswajit Sahoo, Director General and Professor, addressed the participants and spoke about Google and its facilities and opportunities, highlighting the possibilities available to students through the technology ecosystem. During the event, Dr. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT DU, also visited the programme and encouraged the participants and the GDG organizing team for their efforts and dedication.

Dr. Raghunath Dey, FIC, GDG-On-Campus-KIIT, addressed the gathering and briefly presented an overview of the major events and initiatives conducted by GDG during the previous academic year. Mr. Sourav Kumar Giri, FIC, GDG-On-Campus-KIIT, subsequently briefed the participants on the content and agenda of the two-day programme.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation in discussions, collaborative activities and hands-on problem-solving. By combining industry exposure, scientific exploration and practical innovation, the programme provided students with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
The programme supported UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – Quality Education, by promoting experiential learning, skill development and technological awareness, and SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by encouraging innovation, technology adoption and practical problem-solving.
“Deploy or [REDACTED]” successfully strengthened the vision of GDG-On-Campus-KIIT to provide students with opportunities to learn, collaborate, experiment and build. The programme concluded with participants gaining valuable exposure to emerging technologies, scientific activities and innovation-driven problem-solving.
