“Hope in the Time of Covid” Counselling Session for Staff & Family Members of KIIT School of Electronics

A virtual counselling session was organized for the staff members and their families of KIIT School of Electronics on 8th May 2021. The topic of the session was “Hope in the Time of COVID”. More than 70 staff and their family members participated in the session. Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Students Counselling spoke on the need of taking precaution and care of self and family during such difficult times. To address issues on the clinical side, she invited Dr. Lalita Patnaik, In-charge PG Cell, KIMS.

The Counselling team which was formed last year by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS to address the needs of the staff also interacted with the participants.

Dr. Lalita created general awareness about the current Covid situation including normal symptoms and spoke about the necessary precautions and also some do’s and don’t. Several concerns of the staff and their family members were addressed by Dr Lalita to their enlightenment. Her address brought a feel good factor by and large.

Prof. Tripura Mishra, Vice Principal, KISS emphasized the importance of YOGA and shared some of the yoga postures like Sun Breath Yoga, Bhramari, Anulom Vilom, Khechari Mudra by which the immune system can be strengthened and also help create positivity.

The Counseling team for staff Dr. Bijayalaxmi Routray, Chief Librarian, KIIT; Dr. Rajalaxmi Panda, Dy. Director, Student Counseling, KIIT & KISS; and Dr. Sujata Acharya, Principal & Director Academics, KISS were also present at the session.

Prof. Israj Ali, Assoc. Prof, School of Electronics thanked all for their presence and active involvement in the session.
