NSS School of Computer Engineering Celebrates National Girl Child Day

National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on 24th January to change society’s perspective towards girls. It was started in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Dr. Kajal Parashar, Program Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau, Prof. Sheetal Das, Prof. Ramakant Parida and Dr. Minakhi Rout, Program Officers of NSS School of Computer Engineering graced the celebration of National Girl Child Day by NSS School of Computer Engineering on 24th January 2022. They told the volunteers about the significance of the day.  

The NSS volunteers presented their thoughts through beautiful poems and life stories of powerful and inspiring women like Kiran Bedi, Rani Lakshmibai, and Kalpana Chawla. The guest speakers – Sadhana Mishra, Field Officer, KISS-DU; Ms. Bobby, Deputy Registrar (Exam) & Liaison Officer (PwD), NIT Patna, and Dr. Kumari Geeta, Assistant Professor in Public Nutrition, Delhi University – addressed the gathering with thought provoking speeches on women empowerment and women equality.

The NSS, School of Computer Engineering extended its gratitude to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Saranjit Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Prof. Biswajeet Sahoo, Director, KIIT SCE; Prof. Bhabani Shankar Prasad Mishra, Dean, Computer Science Engineering; Dr. Amulya Ratna Swain, Dean, Computer Science System Engineering and Computer Science Communication Engineering; Dr. Arup Abhinna Acharya, Dean, Information Technology; Dr. Kajal Parashar; Prof. Sital Dash, Dr. Minakhi Rout and Prof. Ramakant Parida for their continuous support and encouragement.
