KIIT School of Applied Sciences Organizes Orientation Programme for Ph.D Students

The School of Applied Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University organized an Orientation Programme for Ph.D. students enrolled in the academic session 2020-21 on 25th January 2021. Congratulating and welcoming the scholars, Prof. (Dr.) P. Pattojoshi, Dean, SAS, Chairperson, SLRC said that quality research work gives a distinct profile to KIIT among its peers. Till date, 75 students have been awarded with Ph.D degrees from the School. Thirty students attended the orientation programme.

Prof. S. Nanda, Head, CIR emphasized the need of working on the research areas of societal relevance. Prof. P. K. Das shared his thoughts on pursuing a higher degree. Dr. B. B. Sahu, I/C Program Head-Ph.D informed the scholars about the regulations and other key aspects of the PhD programme. Dr.  P. Rath, Dr.  S. K. Misra, Dr. D. Rout and Dr. C. Mohanty, Coordinators of Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Life Sciences respectively shared their personal experiences and achievements of their respective departments with all the scholars, while underscoring the importance of finalization of the research problem.

Dr. J. Sinha, Prof I/C Research spoke briefly on the excellent research infrastructure of the school relevant for doctoral research. Dr. P. K. Mohanty, Prof I/C, Library Resources, highlighted the facilities including the Automated Central Library, which provides access to almost all categories of books, journals nationally & internationally, and the central computation centre. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Samaresh Jana, Member SLRC to all the members present.
