KINS Conducts Journal Club Presentation

A Scientific Journal Club is a dedicated meeting, where researchers gather to discuss publications from peer-reviewed journals. These meetings help researchers keep up with current findings, exercise their critical thinking skills, and improve their presentation and debate abilities.

Kalinga Institute of  Nursing Sciences, KIIT-DU conducted a Journal Club presentation on 5th July 2021. The Program started with faculties and students of M.Sc.(N) 2nd yr on a virtual platform. The  session consisted of two presentations by 2nd year Post Graduate students. The first speaker Ms. Madhusmita Panda, M.Sc. 2nd yr presented the research article on “Education of self-radial pulse palpation and a trial fibrillation sign and symptoms’ ‘.

After the presentation, the floor was open for discussion and critiques. The second speaker Ms. Prajnya Paramita Bhoi, M.Sc. 2nd yr. presented the article on “The effect of three different methods on venipuncture pain and anxiety in children: Distraction cards, Virtual Reality, and Buzzy(Randomized controlled trial)” followed by critique and discussion.

Such presentations can improve reading habits and gain practice in critiquing and appraising research; critique helps the researcher to get insight into research problems and gain depth of knowledge in the research process. The programme was concluded with thanks to all
