Webinar on Legal English Proficiency at KIIT Law School
A webinar was organized by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of KIIT Law School (KLS) on the 30th of September, 2021. Webinar lecture on “Upgrade Employability Skills with Legal English Proficiency” was delivered by Ms. Suchismita Bastia, ELT & Corporate Trainer. She emphasized how Legal English is an essential part of the Legal profession and discussed the power of good communication. “Upgrading leads to Up-scaling”, she stated, while explaining how to acquire Legal English Proficiency. Ms. Bastia also highlighted the TOLES (Test of Legal English Skills), a test that is valid for Law students to pursue higher studies or jobs abroad, and explained in detail its significance in the legal profession.
Prof. Bhabani Prasad Panda, Director, KLS and Prof. Sanghamitra Patnaik, HOD, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences were present along with faculty members and students. A 2nd year B.B.A. LL.B student, Mr. Aniruddha Roy was the rapporteur of the event. Ms. Zeenat Taher and Dr. Binita Behera were the Convenors.
