KLS Joins Hand with NLSIU for Department of Justice Project in Odisha

KIIT Law School (KLS) entered into collaboration with National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore on 1st February 2022 for implementing a two-year project on “Pan India Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programme” in the state of Odisha. The project has been granted by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India. The Centre for Environmental Law, Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA) at NLSIU got the grant with the objective to focus on the dissemination of legal literacy in the aspirational districts of six states. As the Nodal Agency for the state of Odisha, KIIT Law School shall be implementing the objectives thereof.

The collaboration aims at dissemination of legal literacy on mass level; creation of an overall communication strategy including digital / social media platforms; strategizing effective and sustainable legal awareness campaign; conceptualizing and conducting workshop and legal aid competitions, event coverage and launches related to the programme; and conceptualizing and conducting youth connect workshops by planning events in the colleges/schools and institutions.

KIIT Law School has appointed Dr. Bishwa Kallyan Dash, Assistant Professor (II) as the State Coordinator for Odisha for implementing the project. The collaboration agreement was signed between Prof. (Dr.) Bhabani Prasad Panda, Director, KLS and Prof. (Dr.) Sairam Bhat, Professor & Coordinator, CEERA, NLSIU.
