KSRM Organizes Agribusiness Leader’s Talk
An Agribusiness Leader’s talk was organized by KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) for the students of MBA Agribusiness Management on 12th March 2021.
The speaker, Mr. Nalin Rawal, CEO, NCML AgConhighlighted on the New Technologies in Agribusiness, risk profile and impact of climate change in different regions. He introduced ‘AgCon’ which is India’s largest integrated weather, Agri and commodity risk management company. He shared about the strengths of the company, the sectors they are involved in like warehousing, supply chain, test and certification, NCML finance and collateral management. Mr. Rawal stressed how technology leads to solutions through integration of domain knowledge and technology. He also shared about crop acreage estimation, weather services, methods of yield production estimate, crop risk monitoring and production forecasting, crop health monitoring through the help of technologies that their company is using and farm risk management services.
Mr. Nalin Rawal comes with a rich experience of working in new technologies, big data and IoT for mitigating risk in pre and post-harvest management of crops, commodities and agricultural credit. He headed agribusiness in Skymet Weather Services Pvt. Ltd, biomass supply chain in BP and worked with ACME Cold Chain Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Reliance Retail and Chambal Fertilizers and Chemical Ltd in different capacities. He holds a PGDBM in marketing and information technology from Institution of Management Technology and B.Sc (Agriculture and Animal Husbandry) from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology.
