Alumni Talk Organized at KSRM

An Alumni talk was organized by KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) for the students of MBA (RM) and MBA (ABM) on 10th July, 2021. The speaker, Ms. Jaya Sharma, MBA (RM) batch of 2010-12, shared about her journey as a student, her decision to join KSRM and how it helped in shaping her career. She highlighted the significance of the classroom segment where one gets to understand various concepts and the different internships that help in connecting with the community in the MBA (RM) programme. Ms. Jaya also shared about the various extracurricular activities that she actively participated in and won prizes while in the programme. She then took the students through the different stages of her professional journey and how each stage helped in enhancing various skill sets like community engagement, coordination, liaisoning and partnership management.  

Ms. Jaya emphasized that learning attitude is one of the most important criteria that employers look at. Networking skills and active presence in social media platforms like linkedin also help in the career trajectory. She shared about skills like documentation and emotional intelligence that are crucial in the consultancy sector. Ms. Jaya also shared about her work in vegetable processing, marketing and the vegetable cooperative model.

Ms. Jaya has a rich experience in the domain of livelihoods, agriculture and cooperatives.  She is currently working as Senior Associate at PWC India and is based out of Patna. She had earlier worked in Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society and Technoserve. Ms. Jaya also holds a degree in B Sc Forestry from Navsari Agriculture University.
