Agribusiness Leaders’ Talk Series at KSRM
KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) organized a talk by Mr. Vinayak Raman Sharma, Vice President – Marketing, Seed-works International (US Agri Seeds) under its Agribusiness Leaders’ Talk Series for the students of MBA (ABM) on 12th February 2021. Mr. Sharma, in his talk, highlighted the significance of seeds in agriculture and presented the global as well as Indian seed industry scenario. He described the work carried out by US Agri Seeds, emphasizing various strategies adopted by the company for brand awareness and promotional activities. He also elaborated on different activities taken up during the COVID 19 pandemic.
The major strategy included preparing a road map to target farmers, dealers, and the general public by using different social media tools like YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp, Mr. Sharma said. They also organized virtual competitions that included Rangoli making, painting for famers’ children, virtual webinars and live sessions. He shared about the different in-house projects like e-Sampark, CORE, VRUDHI, JIGYASA, SAFAL for helping the farmers and building customer relationships. Presently, the company is focusing on Phygital, i.e. integration of physical and digital, he added.
Mr. Vinayak Raman Sharma is a Post Graduate in Business Administration from Symbiosis, Pune and a Graduate in Agriculture from Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya. He has worked with Bayer Crop Science, Dupont, Pioneer Hi- Bred International Inc, Advanta- UPL and Shriram Bioseed Genetics India Limited. Mr. Sharma has expertise in the domain of product development, product management, sales development and business development.
