DATA SCIENCE – Future of Engineering

Dr.Ajaya K Mohanty delivered a talk on “Data Science-future of Engineering” to students of KIIT Polytechnic at Campus-7 Auditorium. Taking a case study of ‘Uber’, he demonstrated potential of data science in decision making. The talk was on the career perspectives for diploma engineering students in the mentioned domain. In the talk he explained the necessary skill levels and available opportunities to have expertise in Data Science. In a stunning presentation he also displayed potential of Data Science in discovery of concepts regarding gravitational waves. Dr.Ajaya K Mohanty  holds the position of Director at Deloitte Consulting, USA. He has served at IBM Corporation as Senior R & D Executive prior to current assignment. Dr. Tanmaya Mohanty, Principal delivered a brief theme talk on what is data science. More than three hundred students and thirty faculty members participated in the highly interactive session. Mr. Sukant K Rout, Vice Principal and Mr. Satya S Das, Administrative Officer welcomed the Guest at beginning of session. The event came to closure with vote of thanks from Dr. Sanjukta Sahoo, In-charge R & D of KIIT Polytechnic.
