KIIT Explores New Pathways for Global Immersion and Cross-Border Partnerships
KIIT University had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Ishan Taneja, Group Managing Director and CEO of UAS International – Group of Companies, for a high-impact engagement that underscored KIIT’s commitment to global academic excellence and meaningful industry partnerships.
A globally recognized business leader, Dr. Taneja brings years of multi-sectoral experience spanning banking, financial services, and global education mobility. His domain expertise encompasses Wealth Management, EDU MICE (Education + MICE), Corporate MICE, and Luxury Travel — disciplines that position him uniquely at the intersection of commerce and academia. UAS International has evolved into a globally integrated organization with active operations in over 21 countries, making it a formidable partner for universities seeking authentic international reach.

The meeting was chaired by Director General, KIIT, Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee. The discussion was notably enriched by cross-disciplinary participation, with faculty from Liberal Studies, Management, Computer Science, and the International Relations Office (IRO) joining the dialogue, making it a truly holistic and intellectually vibrant interaction.
The interaction centered on exploring concrete avenues for a Global Immersion Program, student and faculty mobility frameworks, joint research initiatives, and deeper industry-academia partnerships that would open transformative opportunities for the KIIT community on the world stage. Key areas of discussion included the Global Immersion Program—its structure, destinations, and academic credit frameworks; student mobility and international exchange opportunities; cross-border strategic collaborations in EDU MICE and experiential learning; and pathways for faculty engagement with global institutions and corporate networks.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Sakshi Kaul, Dean Academics, KSLS, and other faculty members, including Dr. Debanjali Roy, Dr. Gourab Chatterjee, Dr. Ipsita Nayak, Dr. Mainak Biswas, and members from IRO, Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Ms. Aruna Kandwal, and Ms. Aditi Nandi. The interaction focused on exploring avenues for the Global Immersion Program, global collaboration, student mobility, and industry-academia partnerships.
This interaction represents a significant milestone in KIIT University’s ongoing pursuit of global academic integration. With shared ambitions for experiential, cross-cultural education, both institutions expressed strong intent to translate today’s dialogue into concrete, actionable programs that will benefit students, faculty, and the broader knowledge ecosystem. This engagement indeed resonates with the philosophy of Founder Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, who envisioned KIIT as a globally connected institution.
