French Embassy Delegation Visits KIIT for Academic Collaboration
A 3-member delegation from Embassy of France – Institut Français India (IFI) visited KIIT on 19th September, 2026 and discussed on strategic collaboration with the KIIT University leadership to host the Université Pédagogique Régionale, an annual International Capacity Building Programme for French language educators. The proposed week-long faculty development programme (FDP) to be jointly conducted by IFI & KIIT scheduled from 24-28 May, 2027 aims to train approximately 150 teachers from India and neighboring countries, featuring expert resource persons from India and France. The delegation identified the FDP venue and sought information about the event logistics after the campus tour.
The meeting with the IFI representative was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU and Prof. (Dr.) Debashis Bandyopadhyay, Pro-Vice Chancellor. Delegation from Institut Français India (IFI) comprised of Ms. Stéphanie Orfila Attachée for Cooperation in Education, Ms. Julia Martin-Legros, Attaché for Cooperation in French Language – East India and Mr. Jatinder Singh, Deputy Head, Cooperation in Language & Education.

Objective of the proposed FDP is to enhance the pedagogical skills and teaching methodologies of French language educators across the region along with promoting academic and cultural exchange between participating entities. The International Capacity Building Programme will involve specialized workshops, seminars, and training sessions led by subject matter experts from India and France. The FDP will provide a centralized platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among international participants.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Sameer Kumar Das, Associate Dean and Dr. Nisha Tiwari, Assistant Professor (French) from the Department of Language & Literature along with Dr. Samuel Rout, Deputy Director, International Relations Office (IRO) of the KIIT University. The Department of Language & Literature, School of Liberal Studies has initiated and facilitated the engagement of the Institut Français India with the leadership of KIIT for collaboration to organize Université Pédagogique Régionale.
