KSFH Organizes Special Lecture on ‘Economics in Everyday Life & Policy in India’

The KIIT School of Social, Financial, and Human Sciences (KSFH) organized a Special Lecture on ‘Economics in Everyday Life & Policy in India’ on 8th December 2023. Eminent economic theorist and development economist Professor Sudipta Sarangi, Head of the Department of Economics at Virginia Tech University, USA, and Fellow at the French Institute for Advanced Studies, Collegium de Lyon, France, delivered the talk. Professor Sarangi lucidly conveyed economic terms and constructs using everyday objects and shared experiences in crisp, easy-to-understand lessons. The discussion covered a wide range of areas, including incentives, game theory, price discrimination, poverty, and more.

Among others, Professor Jayanta Kumar Parida, Director of KSFH; Professor Keshab Das, Dean; and Professor P. T. Chowdhury also spoke. Faculty members, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and PhD scholars participated in the event, which concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Saswat Kishore Mishra, Associate Professor of Economics, KSFH.
