Tech-Expo Organized by KIIT Electrical Society

A two-day Tech-Expo was organized by KIIT Electrical Society (KES), functioning at KIIT Student Activity Centre (KSAC), on 26th & 27th February 2022. With the motto ‘build Small, Think Big’, KES aims to design and develop state-of-the-art electrical products, with distinctive characteristics and to promote social and intellectual benefits.

Inaugurating the event, Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Deputy Director, Student Services, KIIT encouraged the participants to explore and dive deep into their interests and convert their ideas into amazing projects. Dr. Manoj K. Maharana and Dr. Shubhasri Kundu, Faculty Coordinators also spoke on the occasion.

The Expo, hosted by Mr. Bishwayan Ghosh, Ms. Riya Aditya and Mr. Arinban Sadhukhan, had six teams; namely, Team Gold Diggers, Team Code it out, Team Brute Force, Team Mood Busters, and Team Malbros. They showcased their projects on Hotel Automation System, Automatic Attendance System, Light Tracking Solar Panel using Arduino, Emotion Detection Using Speech and Motion and Light Based Room Operating System respectively.

This was followed by KES Alumni connect talks by Mr. Akash Roy Choudhary, currently working in Jlnphenix Energy Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Sarnajit Santra, currently working in Cognizant. Mr. Akash Roy Choudhary said that working with peers in the Society has amazing benefits. Mr. Santra stated that he learned a lot from KES and it helped him in placements. The talks were followed by a Q&A session.

KES Industry Connect was organized on the concluding day, where Mr. Shaon Kanti Bera, Manager, Centre of Excellence for Power Electronics in BHEL gave some knowledgeable insights and shared his journey in the corporate world.

Three teams, Team Marv 0259, Team Headshot, and Team Soul Saver, displayed their projects like Anti Sleep System with auto generative breaking, Automatic Fire and Gas Leak Detection and Triggering of ventilation and alert, and Controlling DC Motor with IR sensor respectively. There was also a fun quiz and Q&A session on projects shown during the event.
