KSAC Hosts the National Open Quiz ‘Udghosh’
‘Qutopia’, the Quizzing Society of KIIT at KSAC, hosted Udghosh 2023, a National level Open Quiz Competition, on 2nd April 2023. The competition was open to individuals of all ages from schools, colleges, and the corporate world. The event received an overwhelming response, with over 500 participants from across the country competing in the preliminary round.
The participants showcased exceptional quizzing skills, answering tricky questions in a highly competitive environment. The renowned quizmaster, Major Chandrakant Nair, moderated the entire event, keeping the participants and the audience engaged throughout. After a rigorous preliminary round, eight teams qualified for the final round, where the finalists displayed exceptional knowledge and quizzing skills, making the final a neck-to-neck competition.
Team Rasagolla Revolutionaries, consisting of Piyush Kedia, Growth Executive at MX Player, and Calvin from MasterCard, won the First Prize. The Second Prize went to the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance team, comprising Navin Rajaram from Solar High Tech Solutions and Jayakantan from TCS. The team Caveat Attempt, consisting of Jyotesh Singh, Executive, BCJ, and Gokul S. from Delhi School of Economics, won the Third Prize. DAV Public School, Unit-8, was awarded the Best School Award.
The winners were felicitated with cash prizes, rewards, and merit certificates. The First Prize was Rs. 75,000, the Second Prize was Rs. 50,000, and the Third Prize was Rs. 25,000. The Best School was rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 5,000, while all the finalists received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 each.
The award ceremony was graced by Dr. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT; Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director of Student Services; Mr. Anirudha Choudhury, the Society Faculty In-charge, and Mr. Roshan Thakur, Executive of KSAC. They commended Qutopia for the impeccable execution of Udghosh 2023, providing a platform for quizzing enthusiasts from across India to showcase their talent. The participants were thoroughly satisfied with the event, making it a grand success.
