Social Media Campaign by KSAC on Global Handwashing Day

Staying clean and washing hands frequently has become very important during the unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is not only important to wash hands yourself, but also to educate others about the importance of the same.

Kraya and Kuber, the Marketing and Finance society of KSAC, KIITorganized a Social Media Campaign to create awareness on and spread the benefits of washing hands. On the Global Hand-washing Day, observed on 15th October 2020, all the members of the society came together by demonstrating the importance of clean hands and spreading awareness with the help of the virtual tools and social media. This initiative, which was captured in the form of a video, was received widely by the audience. With a reach of 1560, the posts saw many re-shares by various doctors and students on social media.

In addition, KSAC’s work was also recognized by a few noteworthy people. It was well appreciated and promoted by Dr. Pallavi Priyadarshini, St. Stephen’s Hospital, New Delhi; Dr. Satya Mishra, Bombay Central Hospital, Mumbai; Dr. Deepamjyoti Nanda, CGH, Bhubaneswar; and Dr. Priyanka Mohanty, Hi-tech Medical, Bhubaneswar.

The team was successful in completing the vision of making people observe and learn the importance of the day and incorporate the same to have a healthy and safe lifestyle. Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director, Student Services, KIIT thanked the entire team for their efforts.
