KIMS Conducts Yoga Classes for First Year MBBS Students “Samatwam Yoga Uchyate” i.e. Evenness of mind is called Yoga

Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) conducted Yoga classes for 1st year MBBS students as a part of their foundation course on 27th March 2022 as per revised CBME curriculum. The program, held at KIIT Hockey stadium, was inaugurated by Principal KIMS, Brig. Dr. Ambika Prasad Mohanty, who welcomed the students and emphasized the importance of yoga in daily life and medical curriculum. Dr. Biswabandita Kar, Dean, KIIT School of Spiritualism & Yogic Sciences (KSSYS) emphasized how yoga played a pivotal role during the Covid-19 pandemic in building immunity and keeping everybody mentally as well as physically strong. Under the guidance of the faculty of KSSYS, the students performed Yogasanas adeptly. The Principal along with Prof. Dr. Shubhransu Patro, Vice Principal, KIMS; Dr. Jayanti Mishra, Professor & Head, Department of Physiology & Joint Coordinator, MEU; and Dr. Soumya Mishra, Student Counsellor & Associate Professor, Department of Physiology also joined the session.
