NSS Volunteers of SEE conducted Clean Campus, Green Campus Drive to promote Healthy Living

NSS Electrical under the shed of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan took the initiative of promoting healthy living through cleaning the Campus on November 10, 2019. The event was named “Clean Campus, Green Campus” which comprised the removal of all plastic and non-biodegradable waste from the entire Campus especially from the roots of trees, grass and the green patches, while Kunjaban of Campus 3 was the main target of the Volunteers.

The NSS Volunteers of School of Electrical Engineering worked hard all throughout the event starting with arrangement of dustbins and cardboard boxes, seeking for permission and arranging the requirements like cardboard boxes and buckets for collecting the waste and ending with proper disposal of tons of plastic and non-biodegradable waste into the BMC tractors which was managed meticulously by Prof. Snehalika, NSS PO, Electrical Unit.

The event started at 7 A.M. with about 25 participants overall from different years excluding the 1st year. Workers from the Campus also lent their help and support. The Volunteers collected almost all the plastic wastes from all around the Campus and packed those into 7 big cardboard boxes and dumped them into the waste carrying vehicle of BMC. Prof. Snehalika arranged refreshments for all the exhausted Volunteers who worked hard to clean the beautiful campus.

All the Volunteers felt a great sense of satisfaction after the completion of the event. They conveyed special thanks to NSS PO, Prof. Snehalika, who was there to not only guide but also helped the Volunteers clean the Campus. Overall, the event was grand and successful.
