Leadership Excellence Award Conferred on Chairperson, KiiT International School

Dr. Mona Lisa Bal, Chairperson, KiiT International School has been honoured with yet another Asian Award in Thailand. Dr. Bal received the coveted Leadership Excellence Award (Second Edition), an initiative by Meccademia Education Group that seeks to bolster edupreneurship in Asia. She received the award from an esteemed panel of jury members which included Mr. Mark Parkinson, Consultant in educational leadership, education reform for India and South East Asia, Mr. Sanjay Naik, Vice President, Emirates Airlines and Groups, and also Ms. Rupa Chakravarthy, Principal,  Suncity World School. Leadership Excellence Award (LEA) aims to celebrate and recognize influential educational leaders across the world to commemorate creative educators who ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

A staggering 275 school leaders had applied for the award and 18 top schools leaders from India, Oman and Muscat were shortlisted and invited to Thailand. They shared their success stories in this quest for excellence in different aspects of education. Dr. Bal won the coveted Leadership Excellence Award. Her refreshing and unique views on up-skilling and retraining teachers, providing them good working conditions, financial remuneration and a reasonable workload which would foster a higher happiness quotient among them and better self-esteem to give their best to the institution.

Dr. Bal, as is her wont, attributed her success belonged to the KIIT fraternity, the transformational and inclusive leadership of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder KIIT and KISS, the KIIT philosophy of education for all with a human touch to uphold the dignity of the individual which has evolved to become a way of learning in KiiT International School.

She expressed her gratitude to the entire team of KiiT-IS led by the Principal, Dr. Sanjay Suar.  For the school, this is indeed a culmination of dedication and greater resolve to provide the best pedagogical practices and experiential learning to enrich childhood with knowledge, innovation, insight and transformation as embodied in its mission. She said, “While awards were a welcome recognition and a feel good factor that reinforces the fact that the educational journey is on track, institutionalizing best educational practices was the biggest award of all, even if it goes unnoticed at times.”
