It covered various aspects of conducting a systematic review, including identifying research questions, refining review questions, establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria, searching and screening relevant databases, assessing the quality and bias of included studies, extracting and synthesizing data, and writing findings according to PRISMA guidelines. The workshop included lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, and hands-on exercises.

Faculty members from KSPH, including Prof. (Dr.) Bhuputra Panda, Director; Dr. Pratap Kumar Jena, Assoc. Being a novel initiative by KSPH, participants were overwhelmingly engrossed all throughout and actively worked on their thesis projects for refinements, making them publication-ready. It was successful in enhancing the students’ capacity to conduct high-quality systematic reviews on relevant public health and social-health issues. Certificates to the participants were distributed by the Director of KSPH, Principal of KIDS, and other faculty members of KSPH and external experts.

In the long run, this will enable participants to publish high-quality SRs in indexed journals.
