World Space Week-2017 Celebrations concluded at KIIT Campus

The 2 day long celebrations of World Space Week-2017 came to an end on  7th October, 2017. Introducing the Guests, Sri Ajit Kumar Nath, DGM, Range Operations, SDSC said that Space Science and Rocketry have witnessed many historic events as ISRO mission and activities are exposing very rapidly.

In this context, all institutes and universities should play a stellar role to bring developments in the domain of Space Science. Sri Nath pointed out, how Space Technology has become a part and a parcel of our lives. He urged the teachers and students to act as change agents to promote space science and related activities.

Gracing the occasion, the Registrar of KIIT University Prof. Sasmita Samanta said that,  it is certainly a proud privilege on part of KIIT to host  a programme of immense significance.

Then Prizes were distributed by the dignitaries to the winners in different events such as Poster and Design Competition, Quiz Competition,  Drawing Competition and Video Shows on Space related  activities which were held among the school and college students. Apart from these, SHAR, Sriharikota felicitated some key functionaries of KIIT and KISS for working avidly to make the event a huge success.

Earlier at the morning, KIIT and KISS Founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta flagged off  the  “Space Peace Walk” as part of the World Space Week-2017 celebrations. Around 1500 students from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and KIIT International School took part in the awareness rally.
