The second day of Biotech Industry Conclave 2021, organized by KIIT School of Biotechnology (KSBT), featured two informative sessions on ‘HR – The fosters of knowledge sharing and harnessing the power of science’ and ‘Vaccine – A new currency for sustainable growth in the post-pandemic world’.
Moderated by Dr. Srinivas Patnaik, Dean, KSBT, the first session of the day had speakers like Mr. Rajorshi Ganguli (President and Global HR Head, Alkem Labs); Mr. Dinesh Reddy (Associate Director- Talent Acquisition, PPD); Ms. Priyanka Thatoi (HR Business Partner, Novartis) and Ms. Ishita Medhekar (CHRO, Metropolis Healthcare). They gave an insight of the challenges HR is facing as learning becomes more dynamic and one has to constantly update themselves with new technologies. They stressed on the importance of possessing transferable skills, cognitive abilities, rapid decision-making and taking up responsibilities, if one has to survive in the present socio-economic conditions. Dr. Gopal Chowdhary of KSBT introduced KIIT-DU and the School to the speakers.
Speakers for the second session, moderated by Dr. Subrat Kumar, Assistant Professor, KSBT, were Dr. Bhavin Patel, CEO and Co-Founder, Ipsum Lifesciences and Dr. Baibaswata Nayak, Assistant Professor, AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr. Bhavin Patel provided valuable insight into the possibilities and action plan for the next generation of biotech entrepreneurs. Dr. Baibaswata Nayak shared his vision regarding how vaccines will help in achievement of sustainable growth and how impact of Covid-19 has ushered the progress of the same.
