KIIT School of Fashion Technology Student Brings Laurels

Designing student from KIIT School of Fashion Technology (KSFT) Ms. Shreya Raj (6th semester, 2021 Batch) has brought laurels by winning the runner-up position in the fashion competition organized recently by 93.5 RED FM in association with the BPFNxt Fashion Festival.

Her theme “TRAPPED” was based on the perspective of a detective chasing a criminal and all the mystery thriller incidents revolving around the scene. The garment shows how the detective was trapped inside the mind game-like cage of the criminal and finding clues and pieces of evidence to catch the murderer.  The showcased garments were one of her many creations which was a part of her project.

Soumi Roy and Jyoti Kumari (6th semester, 2021 batch) also participated in the competition. The contest’s core objective was to showcase upcoming designers’ skills and enhance and encourage their talents. Among the 18 to 20 participants from the famous design institutes INIFT, NIFT, and KIIT, only 10 students were selected for the final round.

Jyoti’s theme was named “Beautiful Journey”. It indicates a butterfly’s life story, and the struggles a caterpillar faces to become a butterfly. Soumi’s theme was Peking Opera. In fact, Peking opera, or Beijing opera, is the most dominant form of Chinese opera, which combines music, vocal performance, mime, dance, and aerobatics.

Dean, School of Fashion Technology, Prof. Bauri Raula and Dy. Director Ms. Gipsita Nayak,  along with all the faculty wished the students all the best in their future endeavors.
