KIIT School of Fashion Technology Organizes Alumni Talk Series ‘Karwan’

KIIT School of Fashion Technology organized ‘Karwan’, the first talk under the Alumni Talk Series, on 24th April 2021. Delivering the talk, Ms. Sayamdeepa Mishra, (PLM) Buyer from Royal Enfield Group, Bangalore  drew attention of  students  to the importance of commitment in one’s field of work in order to know the impact of new ideas from varied integrated  experiences at the ground level. She also shared some valuable advice about VM Skills, Merchandising, General Merchandising & Product Life Cycle Management Skills for success as PLM Merchandiser in Apparel Manufacturing Organization.

During the two hours session, Ms. Mishra explained about Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) Merchandiser which is a committed and well career prospective job profile in a high value apparel manufacturing-cum-export organization. She told students that the opportunity gives multidimensional integrated knowledge which makes any one a successful professional in his or her career. She also interacted with students explaining that the pandemic situation is an opportunity for higher goal achievements by learning various skills online.

Ms. Mishra, a Design student from the 2012-2016 batch of the School, built a bridge for the students to connect with her. She emphasized on qualities like multitasking, being able to take up responsibility anytime and making proper references, which would help in work life balance. She encouraged the students with her valuable talk and wished them success in any field of their choice.

Ms. Sayamdeepa Mishra has rich experience in Visual Merchandising and General Merchandising as Merchandiser & PLM Merchandiser in Pantaloon Retail Ltd., MISS CHESSE Pvt. Ltd, Orient Crafts  Ltd and, at present, in Royal Enfield Group in Apparel Manufacturing Division at Bangalore. She has  recently  been assigned to a higher  Job  responsibility  for  the  Business Expansion & Extension office at New York, USA, to look after USA  business opportunities.

Earlier, Prof. Bauri Raula, Course Coordinator welcomed the speaker. Mr. Partha Sarathi Bal, Faculty Associate & Alumni Coordinator hosted the rest of the session. Ms. Biswaranjita Mohapatra, Sr. Faculty Associate proposed  the vote of thanks. She thanked CEO of the School, Prof. Himansu Sekhar Khatua for his guidance to organize the event. Students from Semester II, IV & VI participated in the talk.
