KIIT School of Fashion Technology organized “KARWAN”, the Alumni Talk Series, on 15th August 2021. Delivering the talk, Mr. Rajat Ranjan, Regional Manager from Aditya Birla fashion and retail limited, drew the attention of students to the importance of commitment in one’s field of work in order to know the impact of new ideas from varied integrated experiences at the ground level. He shared his valuable ideas about the Retail market management, and also talked about the market strategies of various brands and future trends.
During the One and half hour session, Mr. Ranjan explained about Retail merchandising including activities and strategies such as in-store design, the selection of specific merchandise to match a target market, and the physical and digital marketing of merchandise to customers. He told students that the opportunity gives multidimensional integrated knowledge which makes any one a successful professional in his or her career. He also shared with students his experiences of how his career started from an internship training period and he got the first job from there.
Mr. Rajat Ranjan, a Design student from the 2009-2013 batch of the School, built a bridge for the students to connect and get inspired from him. With answering the question to 7th semester students, Mr. Ashutosh Dixit, Mr. Ranjan discussed various luxurious and commercial brands and their nature of productions. He also talked about the scopes of e-commerce and online retailing. One of the students from 5th Semester, Mr. Sayan Mishra also shared his experience about his recent internship.
Mr. Rajat Ranjan has rich experience as Store Operation Manager in Decathlon Sports India. Then after working as Area Manager for Bestseller Retail India Ltd, he joined Blackberry clothing Ltd as Area Manager. Now he is currently working as Regional Manager in Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. The session ended with a questionnaire interaction between the guest and the students.
Earlier, Mr. Partha Sarathi Bal, Faculty Associate & Alumni Coordinator welcomed the speaker and hosted the rest of the session. In-house Faculty Mr. Avinas Kumar, Master Trainer Mr. R.K Moharana and Guest faculty Mr. Krishna Gupta Joined the Session and Ms. Biswaranjita Mohapatra, Sr. Faculty Associate proposed the vote of thanks. She thanked CEO of the School, Prof. Himansu Sekhar Khatua for his guidance and support. She also thanked Mr. Partha Bal and KSAC for arranging such an interesting interaction session and Mr Rajat for his valuable time and words for the students. Students from Semester III, V & VII participated in the talk.
