KIMS School of Physiotherapy Celebrates World Physiotherapy Day 2026
KIMS School of Physiotherapy, KIIT Deemed to be University, celebrated World Physiotherapy Day 2026 on 8th September 2026, focusing on this year’s theme, “The role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease and stroke.”
Following the vision and inspiration of Founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, the programme was graced by Dr. R. N. Samanta, Advisor to Founder, KIMS, as the Chief Guest; Prof. (Dr.) R. C. Das, AVM, Dean & Principal, KIMS; Prof. (Dr.) Manas Ranjan Behera, Medical Superintendent, KIMS; Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Director General, KIMS, as Guests of Honour; and Prof. (Dr.) Birupakshya Mahakul, Principal, KIMS School of Physiotherapy, along with distinguished faculty members, clinical physiotherapists and students.

Followed by the inauguration ceremony a book was released “MY KIIT MY PRIDE” inspired by the visionary Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS and authored by Dr. Dwarikanath Rout, Prof. (Dr.) Birupakshya Mahakul and Prof. (Dr.) Priyabrata Dash.
The scientific programme featured insightful keynote sessions by experts from Cardiovascular Surgery, Neurology and Physiotherapy, highlighting the crucial role of physiotherapy and physical activity in prevention, early intervention, rehabilitation and improving quality of life in individuals with cardiovascular disease and stroke.
