One of the doyens of corporate India, Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), visited the campuses of KIIT and KISS on 9th Nov 2025 and interacted with students, emphasising them to tap opportunities emerging out of the green hydrogen revolution, artificial intelligence and EV transformation.
Mr. Subrahmanyan attended Industry Symposium 5.0, organised by the KIIT School of Management (KSOM), where he shared his vision of a rapidly transforming industrial landscape shaped by renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable technologies.
Describing KIIT and KISS as “humongous campuses with a divine spirit rooted in peace,” Mr. Subrahmanyan praised the institution for empowering thousands of students through education.
“Never forget the sacrifices your parents and teachers make for your education. Be humble, never stop asking questions, and remember — ‘Can do, will do, and will get it done’ must be your spirit,” he said. “Before you turn 35, kuch toh karke dikhao — achieve something significant.”
Recounting his meeting with Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, Mr. Subrahmanyan called him “a small and humble man but an extraordinary personality.”
In a wide-ranging and thought-provoking address, the L&T Chairman highlighted major global shifts shaping the future — from the solar and green hydrogen revolution to the artificial intelligence and EV transformation.
“Energy transformation is happening at an unprecedented pace,” he said. “We are building some of the world’s largest solar facilities in the Middle East and one of the world’s biggest green hydrogen plants. Solar and hydrogen are the future.”
He noted that countries like the UAE are already achieving significant milestones in renewable energy, with Abu Dhabi’s entire power backed by battery systems. He urged students to explore the immense opportunities emerging in AI, EVs, and green energy, calling these fields the “new frontiers of Industry 5.0.”
Speaking on the AI and digital revolution, Mr. Subrahmanyan encouraged students to be part of the transformation reshaping business and industry. “We are using AI in microfinance to assess family income potential and in infrastructure planning using drone-based analytics.
Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU; Dr. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar; Dr. Kumar Mohanty, Director, KSOM, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
