YRC KIIT Volunteers visit Old Age Home to create Awareness on different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the elderly persons

KIIT Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit with nearly 100 dedicated YRC Volunteers organized a heartfelt visit to the Utkalmani Gopabandhu Old Age Home, Bhubaneswar, on  18th  September  2025.In this visit food items and essentials were distributed among the elderly residents . The interaction with the senior members created an atmosphere of warmth, care, and respect. The residents expressed their happiness and gratitude, while the volunteers felt enriched by the experience of connecting with them.

The event was not just about distribution, but also about spending quality time, listening to the life experiences of the elders, and bringing smiles to their faces. The enthusiasm of the volunteers made the program lively and meaningful.This initiative once again highlighted the commitment of the YRC KIIT Unit towards social responsibility and humanitarian values. The visit left a lasting impact on both the residents and the volunteers, making it a memorable day filled with learning, empathy, and togetherness.

The whole event was coordinated under the  guidance of the counselors Dr. Ramesh Chandra Sethi, Dr. Ajit Kumar Pasayat, Dr. Junali Jasmine Jena ,and Dr. Chitralekha Jena.

YRC KIIT has extended gratitude to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder KIIT ,KISS and KIMS for his constant support and motivation in undertaking such social activities. This program was conducted to promote awareness of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) like “access to quality healthcare (SDG 3), healthy food (SDG 2), safe housing and basic services (SDG 11), and clean water and sanitation (SDG 6).”among the elderly  persons.
