IMF’s Prof. Ranil Salgado Delivers Expert Talk on India’s Economic Scenario at KSEC
The KIIT School of Economics and Commerce (KSEC) hosted Prof. Ranil Salgado, IMF Resident Representative for India, Bhutan, and Maldives, for an expert talk on India’s economic outlook on 21st August 2025.
Prof. Salgado delivered an engaging lecture on India’s economic scenario, offering deep insights into GDP growth, fiscal and monetary policies, inflation challenges, lending practices of banks, and the significance of foreign direct investment and trade integration. He highlighted India’s economic resilience in navigating global uncertainties and stressed the need for strong policy reforms to sustain long-term growth. Encouraging students to adopt both domestic and global perspectives, he shed light on the interconnectedness of India’s economy with the wider world.
The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who posed questions to the IMF expert on pressing economic issues.
Earlier, Dr. Queen Sarkar, Assistant Professor, KSEC, welcomed the gathering, while Prof. Dr. Sukanta Chandra Swain, Dean (I/C), and Dr. Smruti Ranjan Das, Associate Dean (Industry Engagement), underlined the importance of international exposure and industry perspectives in academic learning. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sarkar.
