Alumni Talk at KIIT School of Biotechnology
KIIT School of Biotechnology (KSBT) organized ‘Kuora’, KSBT Alumni Talk Series – Chapter Five on 20th August 2021. The talk was delivered by Mr. Souvik Saha, Research Associate, Lupin Ltd. and hosted by Dr. Rahul Modak. Many faculty members of KSBT were also present.
Mr. Saha enlightened the participants on the basic differences between a product-based company and a Contract Research Organization (CRO). He discussed the scope of the freshers in the renowned Pharma companies like Biocon, Lupin, Syngene, etc. and advised them not to get disappointed by denials. As the placements for the year 2021 is beginning, students could interact and get a clear idea of the R&D as well as other working sectors of the industry. Students enthusiastically participated in the talk session and got to know the perks and the core reality of working in a research laboratory. Mr. Saha pointed out the key skills required for Sales and Marketing jobs in a company and answered all the questions to the best of his knowledge.
Mr. Souvik Saha completed his Masters Degree in Biotechnology and stepped into the industrial world from KIIT School of Biotechnology. He joined as an project intern in Biocon Biologics Limited in the analytical domain and later was employed in Syngene Internationals R&D team. During his academic career he did a lot of internships in prestigious institutions like IIT Bombay, University of Calcutta, etc. which helped him to learn many new insights of the industrial world.
