Members of KIIT Robotics Society, Aaryaman Bharadwaj, Dipanjan Bakshi and Pallabika Bora, secured the 1st position in the IIT BHU Annual Fest, ‘Technex’21 Robovation’. The problem statement required the participants to propose a robotics solution that is capable of autonomously harvesting and segregating a large variety of fruits in a given area. It expected them to have a combined knowledge of object recognition, grasp planning, path planning, hardware design and error recovery. Team TECH. ZIP from KIIT submitted a solution along with the working prototype, i.e. the 3D CAD model, electronic structure, and the ML models. They also submitted a PowerPoint Presentation for the same.

Credit for their success goes to KIIT Robotics Society, faculty coordinators, Dr. Vimal Srivastava, Dr. Mano Ranjan Kumar and Prof Nageswara Rao Budipi as well as student coordinators, who left no stone unturned to create an innovative and productive ecosystem for them to thrive in. The mentor, Dr. Nirmal Kumar Rout, Director – Student Research Cell expressed satisfaction over the success of the team and congratulated them for securing the First Position.
