As a part of the webinar series on Agri-Value Chain, KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM) organized a talk for the students of MBA (RM), MBA (ABM) and PGDCD on  9th October 2020. The talk was delivered by Mr. Prasanna Rao, CEO & Managing Director, Arya Collateral Warehousing Service(P) Limited, an agribusiness value chain integrator.

In his talk, Mr. Rao shared his journey in the agribusiness industry, where he realized that the sector has a tremendous potential both in terms of societal and economic impact. He shared that the agriculture sector, considered as an alternative career option before the pandemic, is now the only sector that gave positive returns.

“As management students, we usually get attracted towards bigger organizations, but one should appreciate the power of small and uncork the potential of SME. One can be a successful entrepreneur in secondary or small markets as well. Moreover eradicating the socio-economic problems in an underdeveloped area and working at micro levels will add values to our social as well as economic life”, he said.

Mr. Prasanna Rao is a rural management graduate from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). He is also a Chevening Financial Services Fellow from Kings College, London.  Mr. Rao headed Agri-commodity finance business at ICICI Bank and had been a part of the supply chain, marketing and sales teams of organizations like Amul and Coca-Cola in India.
