Three KIIT Students Earn Spots in Prime Volleyball League Season 5
In a proud moment for KIIT Deemed to be University and Indian volleyball, three KIIT student-athletes have earned places in the Prime Volleyball League (PVL) Season 5 through the Player Auction held today in Goa. This is the first Time Three Players from a Single University in Odisha Earn PVL Spots
The three players—Tanish Choudhary, Mritunjoy Mahanta and Sarthak Singh Jadon—were picked by different PVL franchises, marking another significant achievement for KIIT’s commitment to developing high-quality volleyball talent.
Tanish Choudhary, playing as an Attacker, was picked by Telugu Black Hawks for ₹14 lakh.
Mritunjoy Mahanta, also an Attacker, was acquired by Mumbai Meteors for ₹5 lakh.
Sarthak Singh Jadon, a talented Universal player, was signed by Calicut Heroes for ₹7.75 lakh.
The selections underline the growing impact of KIIT’s structured sports ecosystem, which combines high-performance coaching, competitive exposure and world-class sporting infrastructure to nurture young athletes.
The PVL Season 5 auction was conducted in Goa on August 17, with franchises assembling their squads for the upcoming season. Season 5 is scheduled to commence on November 30, 2026. The league has also achieved a major milestone with FIVB officially recognising the Prime Volleyball League as India’s first-division professional volleyball league. The recognition provides PVL clubs with a pathway to participate in eligible CAVA, AVC and FIVB club competitions, subject to the applicable regulations and qualification criteria.
Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS, congratulated Tanish Choudhary, Mritunjoy Mahanta and Sarthak Singh Jadon on their selection in the Prime Volleyball League Season 5 auction.
